Parent – Child: Exploring Mindfulness Together

Parent – Child Class: Exploring Mindfulness Together (Ages 8 -12)

First class is free!

What will I get in the first class?

  • A Mind Jar!
    • This is a tool you will make with your child that will help your child learn to calm down and focus.
  • A chance to do a fun activity with your child: Mindful Eating!
  • An opportunity to register for the remaining 7 sessions of the class

How will the class sessions help you and your child?

  • Your child will learn how to focus and manage difficult emotions.
  • You’ll know what to do during meltdowns.
  • It will improve your relationship with your child.

In my 30+ years of teaching and researching mindfulness for children, I know that the kids who make the most progress are those whose parents practice with them.

Schedule and Registration

Note: We require a minimum of 5 students per class. Classes with fewer than 5 students will be cancelled and refunds will be provided. Please be aware of this when making arrangements to attend this program.

Parent – Child Class: Exploring Mindfulness Together (Ages 8-12)

This interactive eight-week program has been developed by Dr. Julia Keller, a psychologist with over 30 years of experience practicing and teaching mindfulness to children and teaching/researching interventions for children with learning disabilities. She is also the author of Mindful Interventions in Special Education.

This is an eight-week in-person class (the first class is free; you’ll need to pay for the remaining seven sessions). Each class session is one hour in duration.

Exploring Mindfulness Together Course Fee

$350 (tax-deductible donation to Mindful Youth Institute). After you pay for the class, you will be sent a tax-deductible receipt. Save $25 if you pay for the class before October 16! Also, because Poor Richard’s is allowing us to use their beautiful cafe for our class, you will need to order at least a drink during each meeting. They offer a $5 “meetup:” a slice of pizza and a soft drink for $5.
